Caring Support for Children and Families – The Hinds Kids Program

At Hinds Hospice, we know that caring for a child with a serious illness is a journey no family should have to walk alone. Our Hinds Kids Program is here to provide compassionate care and support—helping children and their families navigate challenges while focusing on comfort, quality of life, and precious moments together.

Here’s how we help:

  • Whole-Family Support: We work closely with the child, family, and community—including their current healthcare team—to create a care plan that meets their unique needs. From pain and symptom management to emotional and spiritual support, we’re here for the entire family, including parents, caregivers, and siblings.
  • Care Wherever It’s Needed: Whether at home, in the hospital, a long-term care facility, or at Hinds Hospice Home, we provide care in the place that feels most comfortable for the child and family.
  • A Team of Experts with Heart: Our team includes a pediatric physician specializing in palliative and concurrent care, along with compassionate nurses, social workers, chaplains, grief specialists, and massage and music therapists. Trained hospice volunteers are also available to provide respite care for caregivers.
  • Collaboration with Your Child’s Doctors: Your child’s primary physician and specialists remain actively involved in their care. We work as a team to provide the best support possible.
  • Respect for Every Family’s Journey: We honor each family’s personal, cultural, and spiritual beliefs, helping them set goals and create meaningful moments together.
  • Compassionate Bereavement Support: Our care doesn’t end with a child’s passing. We offer guidance through anticipatory grief, support in times of crisis, and ongoing counseling for parents, siblings, and the child’s wider community.

At Hinds Hospice, we believe that every child deserves comfort, dignity, and love. No family should have to face this journey alone—and with Hinds Kids, they don’t have to.
